Russell Clinton Gross' Obituary
Russell Clinton Gross, 50, of Longville passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home in Longville, LA surrounded by loved ones. Russell was born on January 26, 1973 in Lake Charles, LA to James Russell “Rusty” and Rachel Irene Gross.
Graveside service will be Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Dry Creek Cemetery with Rev. Kennis Smith officiating. Funeral services are under the care and direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
He graduated from South Beauregard High School in 1991. He graduated from McNeese State University in 1996 with a degree in electrical engineering. His first job was at Schlumberger in Shreveport, LA as a drilling engineer. He moved to PPG in Lake Charles and then to Premcor in Port Arthur, TX where he was an electrical and instrumentation engineer.
Most admired by all who knew him was his ability to face great challenges with a firm belief in God, great courage, integrity and a total lack of bitterness.
Survivors include his parents Rusty and Irene Gross, his sister Kathy and husband Greg Bonin, nephews and niece Josh and wife Ashtyn Norsworthy, Jordan and wife Baylee Norsworthy, Angie and husband Caleb Thomas and best friend Ryan Vinyard. Russell’s great nephews and nieces include James, Atlas, and Eden Norsworthy, Brooks, Evelyn, and Amelia Thomas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jordan Norsworthy, Josh Norsworthy, Greg Bonin, Caleb Thomas, Ryan Vinyard, and Russell Thibodeaux.
