Ruby Young Piranio's Obituary
Funeral services for Ruby Young Piranio, 94, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Saint Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville with Father Kenneth Michiels officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10th from 5 pm - 9 pm, with a Rosary being recited at 6pm at the funeral home.
Ruby, the daughter of George Washington and Orelia Ellender Young was born July 19, 1918, in Sulphur, LA. She passed away Tuesday, May 07, 2013, in Leesville, LA.
Mrs. Piranio owned and operated Sam’s Shoe Store for over 40 years; where everyone knew her as “Ms. Sam”. She was a member of Lions Club Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and member of St. Michael’s The Archangel Catholic Church. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Piranio, Sr.;brothers, Audrey Young, Bennett Young, Allen Young, John D. Young & Curtis “Bud” Young and sister, Ruth Bruno.
She is survived by her son, Sam & wife, Cynthia Piranio, Jr., of Plano, TX; daughters, Rosalie Allain of Leesville, LA & Carrie & husband, Gayle Liliedahl of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Duane Piranio & wife, Amanda, Theresa Simon & husband, Carl, Kirk Piranio & wife, Cristina, Richard Liliedahl & wife, Ellen, Stephen Allain & wife, Holly, Stephanie Sanders, Rose Marie Allain, Patrick Liliedahl & wife, Missy, Jude Allain & wife, Tanya, John Allain & wife, Carla, Luke Allain & wife, Kristie & Matthew Allain & wife, Mandy; 25 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and lots of friends.
