Ruby Rachel Perkins Jones' Obituary
Funeral services for Ruby Rachel Perkins Jones, 81, of Stonewall, LA will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Rev Jerrell Head, Bro Mike Russell, Bro John Kautz and Rev. Nick Hilton will be officiating, the burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 22nd, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral Home.
Rachel, the daughter of Walter and Arlie Perkins, was born in Hornbeck, LA. She passed away Thursday, April 20th in Shreveport, LA. Rachel was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years Cedric Jones; her parents; daughter, Arla Marie Jones; son, Walton Ray Jones; her siblings, Joyce Mcinnis, Lucy Cox, Mildred Lee, Katie Perkins, JoAnn Schexneider and Nathan Perkins.
Rachel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, going to flea markets and antique shops with her daughters. She was always a cleaning fanatic. She enjoyed her plants and working in the yard. She loved to sit on the front porch enjoying the spring and looking down the lane, as she called it. She looked forward to sitting on the porch with her daughters for afternoon coffee, everyday.
Rachel is survived by her three loving daughters, LaDona Jones Toney and husband, Thomas; Theresa Jones Senkel and husband, Ron; and Jackie Jones Corrales Miller and Paul Miller; grandchildren, Tonya Toney Lyman and husband, Jon; Bubba Toney and wife, Paula; Tiffany Senkel, Ryan Senkel, Haley Corrales, Brandon Corrales, Kameron Jeane, Michael Tuminello and Matt Isgitt; loving brother-in-law Larry Jones and Shirley; Nine great grandchildren; forever friends, Elaine and Buzzy Hemphill; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Honoring Rachel as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bubba Toney, Ryan Senkel, Brandon Corrales, Kameron Jeane, Jim Cook, Jon Lyman; great grandson, Langston Hemingway and nephew, Russell McInnis.
