Roy Goodeaux's Obituary
Roy Goodeaux, 86, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2025. He was born on July 22, 1939, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, music, and friendship.
Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Jones Goodeaux; two sons, David Shane Goodeaux and wife Jeanie, and Tony Glenn Goodeaux, and wife Cammie; and his grandson Cameron Gage Goodeaux and his wife Kassidi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Goodeaux and Mary Irene Green Goodeaux and other loved ones who now welcome him home.
A man of kindness, warmth, and humor, Roy touched countless lives with his gentle spirit and joyful heart. He was a talented musician and a true friend to many. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping.
Roy was a dedicated barber for 60 years, building bonds with generations of clients. Alongside this, he worked faithfully at the Boise Paper Mill for 32 years, providing for his family with strength and commitment.
Above all, Roy’s greatest treasures were his family and the time he spent with them. He will be remembered for his love, laughter, music, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation Services will be on Wednesday September 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Labby Memorial Chapel, with Bro. George Jeane officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Phelps, Alvais Coronel, Mike Jones, Jared Morton, Garrett Morton, and Mickey McMullen. Directly following the service, Mr. Roy Goodeaux will be laid to rest at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana. Services are under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Roy’s life was a song of love and friendship, and though he has passed from this world, the music of his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
