Mrs. Edwards was a native and lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. She worked for over 36 years and retired in 1994 from the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“On December 11, 1956 God gave me a bundle of love. He sent him to me straight from above to love and nurture with His great love. I named him Randall. On February 24, 1958 God gave me another gift of His great love, also to nurture and love, another bundle of joy. I gave him the name Raymond. Then on October 10, 1960 God gave me another gift of His great love to nurture and love his name I have Robert.
Then on March 15, 1964 God surprised us with a beautiful little baby girl whose name we gave Rhonda Renee, and as she grew up she thought it was her job to keep her brothers in line; and she almost did just that!
We always tried to put God first in our lives by starting our days off kneeling and praying; asking God to keep us in His will and to supply our needs. We didn’t have riches, but we knew God would take care of our needs, which He did.
We saw the work of His hands in our lives every day and we trusted Him daily. The trials we had made us stronger Christians.
Those Four beautiful children, who brought so much love and happiness to me as their Mother; God could have never blessed me more. Now He has blessed me with Eight precious grandchildren, Keith Smith, Dustin Smith, Erin Smith, Jessica Smith, Dillon Smith, Trent Vinson, Wesley Vinson, and Casey Vinson, & Parker Smith; And Seven precious Great Grandchildren, Natalie Smith, Creek Smith, Kacen Smith, Layla Vinson, Tripp Smith, Tuck Smith, and Luke Smith.”
