Rosemarie Brooks' Obituary
On November 13, 2018, Rosemarie Brooks passed from this life and went fishing with her husband of 46 years, Herman Brooks. Rose was born on June 2, 1942 in Lovell Wyoming and graduated from high school in Fort Morgan, Colorado May of 1959. After a stint in the Air Force, she married Herman Brooks in Colorado Springs, July 2, 1964. They raised two children together, Jeffery and Kathryn. Rose got to live in many places, from Alaska to Texas, Athens Greece to Maryland and other places in-between before moving to DeRidder, Louisiana in May of 1977.
Rose loved to fish, read, and enjoyed sitting on her back porch with coffee to greet the day. She loved music and passed that desire and love down to her children and grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Hart, her father, Franklin Hart and her beloved husband, Herman.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Judy Hart, her Uncle Ted Hart, her children Jeffery and Kathryn, Daughter in law Karen, four grandchildren, Gwendalyn and her husband Robert, Anastasia, Patrick, and Nathan, her great grandchild, Liam, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service to remember and celebrate Rosemarie’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Labby-Memorial Funeral Home (2110 US-171, DeRidder, LA) at 2:00pm. Rose has requested that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Concerns of Police Survivors (https://www.concernsofpolicesurvivors.org/donatepage) as they had provided much support to her since the passing of her husband.
