Ronnie J. West's Obituary
A viewing for Ronnie J. West, 67, will be held from 4-6 pm, Friday, 05/26/2017, with a memorial service at 6 pm at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville.
Ronnie was born January 24, 1950, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was the son of James and JoAnn West. Ronnie lost his battle to cancer and passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his residence in Leesville on 05/23/2017.
Ronnie served 21 years in the United States Army. His many assignments took him all over the world where he met the love of his life and soulmate, Waltraud in Wurzburg, West Germany in 1970. He was a hardworking man that always put his family first. After he retired from the military, he attended trade school to further his education in small engine repair and auto mechanics. In his free time, he loved to go hunting for hours and always managed to bring some kind of food home for feasting. He was also known on first name basis by the owners of the pawn shops he often frequented. Mostly, he enjoyed just being home with his family.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Waltruad West of Leesville; two daughters, Melissa Pearson and husband, Glenn of Haughton, LA and Melinda Heaser and husband, Donnie of Bossier City, LA; two sons, Tommy West of Leesville and Donny West and his wife Brenda also of Leesville; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ronnie also leaves behind 7 siblings and a number of nieces and nephews.
