Ronald Lee Lyons' Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Lee Lyons will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 25th, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with the Rev. D. R. Davis officiating, the burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. Sunday, August 24th in the funeral home and then 8:00 am until service Monday, August 25th. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Mr. Lyons passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Leesville at the age of 88.
Ronald was born in DeQuincy, LA. He graduated from DeQuincy High School in 1940 He worked in the oilfield industry for a number of years, then worked in forestry for over 50 years. Ronald has served as a deacon at the East Leesville Baptist Church for a number of years. He also served in the US Navy and as a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose V. Lyons of Leesville, LA; Son, Alton (wife Rebecca) Lyons of Leesville; daughters, Linda E. (husband Thomas W.) Sumney of Anacoco and Rhonda M. Bing of Kisatchie, LA; Brother, Elmo J. Lyons of DeQuincy, LA; Grandchildren, Thomas L. Sumney, Alan W. Sumney, Laura Williams and Darrell E. Lyons; Great Grandchildren, Savannah Williams, Jessica R. Lyons and Trevor
