Roemelzia White's Obituary
Funeral services for Roemelzia White, 86, of Rosepine, LA, will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, February 18, 2011, in Marlow Baptist Church in Cravens, LA, with Rev. Hardy Estes, Rev. Arlin Smith and Rev. George Lee Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Marlow Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Labby memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Visitation will begin Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11 AM until
9 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 18, 2011, from 9 A.M. until time of the service in the church.
Mr. White passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Vernon Parish, Louisiana, he lived in Rosepine, LA for most of his life. He was a retired operator with local 406 Operating Engineers, Lake Charles, LA. He was a member and deacon of Marlow Baptist Church. He was a member of the Rosepine Masonic Lodge, a Shriner and 32nd Degree Master Mason. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Navy and a member of the Pitkin, Louisiana American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife, Wonza Eubanks White of Rosepine, LA; two sons, David Bryan White and wife Gwen, and Martin B. White and wife Suzanne, both of DeRidder, LA; three daughters, Sharon Thompson and husband Fred, and Robin L. Bailey, both of Rosepine, and Andrea Lea Duncan, and husband Lt. Col. Daniel, of Honolulu, HI; four sisters, Edna Moses, Ruth Deason and Bobbye Gibson, all of DeRidder, and Annette Simmons of Bossier City, LA; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ova Lea White and son, Bymun White.
