It's impossible to sum up a life like Bobby's in just a few words, because to those who loved him, he was so much more than a list of dates or accomplishments. He was home. He was laughter. He was the steady presence you could always count on.
After high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, worked for Coca Cola Bottling Co, He proudly served as a State Trooper with the Louisiana State Police for 22 years and Chief of Intel Security for Fort Polk.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, road trips, telling stories and joking with friends. Anyone who knew him knows those passions were a part of what made him so special. But more than anything, he loved his family and friends. His love for the Lord and his First United Pentecostal Church family was witnessed in his serving as Head Usher and in any other capacity where he was needed.
To his family, he was everything. A devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years: Elaine McClain, Daughters: Holly McClain, Jennifer Hahn (Mike Archuleta), and Caren McClain (Joe McGrogan), Grandchildren: Cheyenne Staha (Jeremiah), Kaitlyn Hahn, Hannah McClain, Cameron Miller (Johnathan), Olivia Stivanelli, Noah Archuleta, Tyler Archuleta and Nathan Archuleta, Brother: Larry McClain.
Special thank you to all the staff and employees of Riverside Hospital of Louisiana in Alexandria, Louisiana for the care and kindness that they showed for Bobby.
And while we say goodbye for now, we hold onto this: The love he gave doesn't go away. It stays- with us, in us-always.
