He passed peacefully in his sleep on February 16, 2011 at his residence in Jacksonville, FL. Robert Jr. was baptized and accepted the Lord as Personal Savior at an early age under the leadership of the late Elder Tom Weeks, Jr. Robert Jr. graduated from Leesville High School in 1979. Upon graduation, he attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. In July 1987 he enlisted in the US Navy. His distinguished 2 year career includes service onboard the USS DeWert (FFG-45) and several service medals to include National Defense Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Metal, and Humanitarian Metal. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Robert Jr. chose to remain in the Jacksonville area near Naval Station Mayport. He was employed by grocery store chain Food Lion and the Home Depot. Robert Jr. loved his family and friends. He was always giving, whether you needed a place to stay, something to eat, or just someone to talk to. He was always there with a smile, willing to help in any way he could. Jr. loved to cook, but his joy was planting. He could make anything grow. Even though he lived in Florida, his yearning for home grown produce never stopped. He would plant garden items in his front yard, and on his balcony, and would share with his neighbors and friends. He also loved to fish.
