Robert Scott Budnik's Obituary
Robert Scott Budnik born July 27, 1963 to Joseph Budnik and Elsbeth Connolly Budnik in Waukegan, IL. Died on February 16, 2026.
Graduated from Antioch High School in Chicago in 1981. Enlisted in the US Navy from 1981-1984. Rob followed his mother and step-father to Louisiana in various positions including the oil, medical, and safety industry.
Rob met the love of his life, Shea Grigg, on a blind date in September 1991. From that day until the date of her death, they were inseparable. Rob and Shea were married on October 3, 1992 for 33 years at the date of his death.
Rob graduated from Sowela with an associate’s degree in Computer Networking in the early 2000’s. He worked in safety at Women and Children’s Hospital during the late 1990’s. Rob later worked as a Computer Tech for the Beauregard Parish School Board from July 2006 until his retirement in September 2021.
Rob enjoyed coaching youth football and baseball. He helped coach many teams over the years in the East Beauregard area. He enjoyed talking about and watching Michigan football with JT and anyone who would listen. Rob’s greatest blessings were his children Madison and JT. They brought true joy to his heart. Then God blessed him further with the additions of Laney, Rhett, and Hudson.
Preceded in death by his parents Joseph Budnik, and Elsbeth Barnes; maternal grandparents James and Mary Connolly; paternal grandparents Joseph and Elodese Budnik; Uncle William Workman; and his loving wife Shea Budnik.
Survivors- daughter Madison Budnik of Frierson, LA; John (JT) Budnik and Laney of Sugartown; grandsons Rhett and Hudson of Sugartown; stepmother Peggy Budnik of Ironwood, TN; brother Joseph (JJ) and Tracey Barnes of Walker, LA; Aunt Ricky Workman of Gurnee, IL; In-laws John and June Grigg of Grant, LA and numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Dobbins and his team; and the team at Allegiance Hospice.
