Richard David Strahan's Obituary
Richard David Strahan, 60, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
David was Born on January 11, 1965, in Kinder, Louisiana; David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was known for his big heart, sharp sense of humor, and love for life's simple joys. David had a passion for hotrods and a deep love for sports, especially basketball, football, and racing, and never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. He found peace and happiness at the creek, and nothing made him happier than holidays, cookouts, and spending quality time with his family.
He had a special way of making people laugh, often giving playful nicknames to those he loved. His funny and lighthearted spirit made everyone feel welcome. A lifelong fan of rock music, David could frequently be found enjoying his favorite tunes with a smile on his face.
David's vibrant spirit, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his Wife, Cynthia Strahan of DeRidder, Louisiana; One Son, Dylan Strahan and Wife Misty of DeRidder, Louisiana; Father, Richard Lemuel Strahan and wife Christine of Ocala, Florida; Three Brothers, Brandon Baker and wife Jessica of Bonwier, Texas, Michael Strahan and wife Christian of Augusta, Georgia, and Darren Strahan of Ocala, Florida; One Sister, Shelly Trammel and husband Jeffery of Grant, Louisiana; Three Grandchildren, Davan, Madysyn, and Maylee.
David is preceded in death by his mom, Emily Jane Clanton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana, with Bro. Ron Butler is officiating. The interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Grant, Louisiana.
The visitation will be on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
