CSM Richard Paul Johnson's Obituary
Funeral services for Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Richard Paul Johnson, 86, of Leesville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in the Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Leesville with Father Kenneth Michiels officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 5:00 P.M– 8:00 P.M with the Rosary being held at 6:30 P. M. in the funeral home.
CSM (Ret.) Richard Johnson was born on September 17, 1936 in Bordelonville, Louisiana to his parents Jeff Johnson & Marina Laborde Johnson. He passed away on September 25, 2022 in Rosepine, La.
He served in the United States Army for 35 years from which he retired. During his service in the Army he was stationed in Vietnam, Korea, Germany and many stateside duty locations. Among his many awards and decorations are both the Silver Star Metal and Bronze Star Metal.
He was a loving father, husband, and friend. He served as a long time parishioner at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for over 30 years. He was also a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4156.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Euna Belle Mary Johnson of Leesville, LA; daughters: Freda and her husband Leo Luevano of Tavares, FL, and June Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Ellen Johnson and her husband Jessie Albrest of Castleberry, AL; grandchild: Mathew and his wife Tiffany Luevano of Tavares, Fl; great-grandchildren: Payton and Charlotte Luevano, and special friends: Fidel and Rebecca Andrade of Leesville, LA.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Leo Luevano, Mathew Luevano, Terrance Carter, Fidel Andrade, honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Carter, CSM (Ret.) Paul Cador.
