Richard "Dickie" Bailes' Obituary
In the loving arms of his children, young at heart Richard “Dickie” Bailes, age 72, passed away on May 23, 2022. He was born September 20, 1949 to the late Allison and Hazel Bailes in Leesville, Louisiana.
Dickie was an electrician by trade and jokester by nature. He often pretended that they ran over his foot whenever they would drive away. Early in his career, he owned Bailes Electric and later was elected as Vernon Parish School Board Member. Dickie continued his career as an electrician with various companies. Whether to catch up with old friends, record home videos, or to support his alma maters of LHS and NSU, Dickie loved to travel down memory lane. He also loved to be “on the go” in a fast car to visit his beloved grandchildren where he would proceed to spoil them with quality time and gift giving.
Family that will hold his memories close are his children, Jennifer Nelson (Michael) of Monroe, Christy Tuck (Timothy) of Leesville, Jonathan Bailes (Brandi) of Minden, Rebecca Ibarra (Rick) of Dallas, Texas, and Richard Bailes II (Jaclyn) of Fairfield, Texas; Grandchildren: Noah Fulk (Autumn), Gracyn Tuck, Laura Tuck, Britton Bailes, Addison Bailes, Sage Bailes, Gabriella Ibarra, Emma Nelson, Heidi Bailes, Nathan Bailes, Ricky Ibarra, Bryant Ibarra, Ruby Bailes, Wynter Bailes, Canaan Bailes, and Baby Girl Bailes arriving in October. Siblings include Margaret Baucom of Shreveport, Helen Guynn (Sandy) of Leesville, and the late Allison Bailes. Leaving behind an abundance of cousins, nieces, and nephews that he adored.
The family is grateful and blessed for the care and comfort of Jesus’ love from the staff of Floor 2A during his hospital stay at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
A celebration of life for Richard “Dickie” Bailes, 72, of Leesville will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Leesville with Reverend Craig Forque officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
