Rex Eugene Shaw's Obituary
A celebration of the life of Rex Eugene Shaw, 63, of Pitkin, LA, will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2011, in the First Baptist Church of Pitkin with Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery in Sugartown, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral home in DeRidder. Rex entered into eternal life Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at his residence. Visitation will continue today at 8 A.M. in the church.
A native of Lake Charles, LA, Rex and his wife had retired in Pitkin over a year ago. He retired from CITGO in Sulphur, LA, where he was a lab supervisor. Rex was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman and also loved to train dogs and enjoyed carpentry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pitkin. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
Rex is survived by his wife Robin C. Shaw of Pitkin; two sons, Sean Shaw(Crystal) of Statesville, NC, and Jeremy Shaw(Leigh Ann) of Carlyss, LA;two daughters, Michelle Sonnier(John) of Shreveport, LA, and Jaime Litke of Houston, TX; his mother, Lillie Belle Shaw of Pitkin; two stepsons, Franklin Savage, Jr.(Terri) and James Earl Savage(Sonya), both of Sugartown, LA; one brother, Dudley Shaw(Shirley) of Lake Charles, LA; and eighteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, David, Micheal, Daniel, Cassidy, Chloe, Tabitha, Parish, Laurelei, Lilliana, Makaria, Aubrie, Trippi, Adelyn, Johanna, Andrea, Isabella and Tyler.
