Funeral services for Retired Command Sgt. Major Ezell Wills, 65, of New Llano, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Johnson Temple Church of God In Christ in Leesville with Rev. Maurice Johnson and Elder Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 8th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., in the church.
Retired Command Sgt. Major Ezell Wills was born on October 24, 1947, in Panola, Alabama (Tuscaloosa). He served in the military for 31 years before retiring in 2002. He served in many places, including the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, Germany, Panama and Fort Polk. The family’s home is in New Llano, Louisiana.
Ezell departed from this life Sunday, March 3, 2013. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Mary Wills; four children, daughter, Verlissa (Melvin) Shackelford of Ormond Beach, Florida; son, Bobby Jackson of Leesville; daughter, Shinesa (Anthony) Cambric of Douglasville, Georgia; and son Patrick Wills of Ormond Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Brandon Jackson, Melvin Shackelford III, and Marvin Shackelford of Ormond Beach, Florida; Jasmine, Nia and Shawn Cambric of Douglasville, Georgia; and Donte Jackson of Warren, Ohio: one sister, Mrs. Fannie Grant and one aunt, Mrs. Lillie Hopkin all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; mother-in-law, Sammie Dixon; one sister-in-law, Shirley Shepard; three brother-in laws; Johnny, Douglas and Garnell Moneyham, all of Luverne, Alabama; three nephews; Ronnie, Tony and Anthony Grant; and a host of other relatives and friends.
