Retired SFC George E. LeMay's Obituary
Funeral services for George E. LeMay, 84, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 14th from 6 pm - 8 pm, then Tuesday, October 15th, from 8 am until service time in the chapel.
George, the son of Clarence and Nona LeMay was born February 5, 1929 in Mount Alba, TX. He passed away Friday, October 11th at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville. George was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sarah Crawford.
George retired from the US Army as an E-7 SFC, having served in the Korean War and Vietnam War (2 tours). He retired from the Army at Fort Polk in 1971. He enjoyed fishing and lived on Toledo Bend the last few years until this year. Then he moved back to Leesville, The last few years he was not able to do much fishing but he enjoyed living on the lake.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia LeMay; sons, David and wife Patty LeMay and Donald LeMay all of Leesville. 2 step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
