Ret. US Army SFC Douglas Garnett Sanders' Obituary
Funeral services for Ret. US Army SFC Douglas Garnett Sanders, 76, of DeRidder will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2012, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chpael in DeRidder with Gary Brown speaking, the burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at Fort Polk, services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8p.m., Sunday, March 31st, at the funeral home then 8:00 am until service time Monday in the Chapel.
Douglas the son of G. C. and Reba Sanders was born on June 22, 1936, in DeRidder, Louisiana. He entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at his residence in DeRidder, Louisiana at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 5 days.
Douglas, retired from the US Army as a SFC, he was a Vietnam Veteran and Bronze Star Recipient. He also retired from the L.C.I.S. Prison System. Doug loved spending time with this family and friends especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annemarie Sanders of DeRidder, Louisiana Sons, Garnett Sanders of Pablo, Colorado, Robert Sanders of DeRidder, Louisiana and David Sanders of Mansfield, Louisiana; Brother, Eddie Sanders of DeRidder, Louisiana his grandchildren, Lea Anne Durrett, Zeke Sanders, Casey Sanders, Morgan Sanders and David Sanders
