Rebecca Jane "Jane" Nickerson Beltz's Obituary
Rebecca Jane “Jane” Nickerson Beltz, 75, of Leesville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. A lifelong resident of Leesville, Jane was born on November 16, 1949, to Roger Alan Nickerson, Sr. and Ollie Sue McElveen Nickerson. She was the middle child of three, growing up between her brother and sister.

Jane was a proud member of the Leesville High School Majorettes and graduated from Leesville High School in 1967. On October 18, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, John “Johnny” Beltz. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and family.

A lifelong educator, Jane dedicated her career to shaping young lives as a first-grade teacher and later as a guidance counselor. She carried her passion for teaching beyond the classroom, sharing her talents as an artist, art instructor, and owner of Jane’s Craft Cabin in Leesville. Her creativity extended to sewing, painting, and finding beauty in the unexpected, often transforming antiques and flea market treasures into cherished works of art.

Jane’s greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of two daughters, Rebecca Beltz Majors and Meloni Beltz Hartley, and the proud Nana of seven grandchildren: Justin Majors, Matthew Majors, Jamie Majors, Heather Hartley, Ivy Beltz, Trey Hartley, and Holly Hartley. She treasured traveling with Johnny, camping in their RV, playing games with her ADK sisters, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her heart.

Her life reflected her deep Christian faith and her desire to serve others. Jane’s kindness, creativity, and joy touched all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her boundless love for her family, and her devotion to the Lord.
