Rachel was a woman of God and a true servant to Him. She faithfully donated to many organizations around DeRidder such as the Baptist Building Fund, the food box, and to New Life Church. She taught the children at Vacation Bible School and Sunday School with love and enthusiasm.
Rachel Kiper met the love of her life, Jimmy Bond, and they were married on December 2, 1958 and was a faithful companion to him. Her pride and joy were their children and grandchildren whom she adored and loved. She had a kind heart and was soft spoken, giving encouraging words and a steady hand to anyone. She will be greatly missed by all those who love her.
She filled the family home with love and happiness, always a loving mother and grandmother. She found solace at church, in prayer and in service to the community. Rachel’s hobbies included: making flannel pajamas for all of the family including all of the nieces and nephews; hand quilting and painting; writing and relating family stories to her children and grandchildren; she was a life long fan of Elvis, and she greatly enjoyed traveling with family for over 65 years, from the Cajun Ocean to the Canadian border, from the U.S. Capitol to Hawaiian waterfalls, certain to stop at every national monument and park along the way.
Those left to cherish Rachel’s memory are her two sons, Sherrill Clark Bond and wife Minoo of Atlanta, Georgia, and Samuel Lynn Bond and wife Laurie of New Iberia, Louisiana; one daughter, Pamela Sue Bond of Los Angeles, California; four brothers, William Audra Kiper of Carthage, Texas, Dale Gene Kiper and wife Carol of Columbia, California, Lanny Ray Kiper and wife Mary Sue of Carthage, Texas, and Danny Ray Kiper and wife Vanessa of Carthage, Texas; one sister, Robin and seven grandchildren, Maxwell Bond, Samuel C. Bond, Michael Bond, Joshua Bond, Matthew Bond, Emily Bond, and Wendy Bond. Her love and influence extended to a plethora of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jimmy Bond; parents, Audra Thomas and Rachel Kiper and sister Frances Waddle.
