Phyllis Carper's Obituary
Phyllis Edholm Carper of New Llano, LA., died on June 23, 2023 at age 97, in her home in New Llano. She was born Dec 31, 1925 in Waukeagan, Illinois to Helen and Victor Edholm.
Phyllis attended schools in Illinois in 1948. She graduated from Lakeforest College, North Western University and The Evanson Hospital School of Nursing with a BS Degree. For 20 years she worked as a registered nurse in Civilian and Military Hospitals. As a former 1st Lt. U. S Army Nurse. She was a Korean War Veteran and a lifetime member of VFW. Phyllis was a Deacon in the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Leesville, Louisiana.
Survivors include one daughter; Amy Skalicky, two grandchildren, Michael and Mikayla of Colorado, one sister-in-law; Janet Lemley of South Carolina, her two children Melissa Milioni and husband Paul, two sons; Victor and Dean also Timothy Lester and wife Wendy all of Florida, plus a great many first and second cousins in Illinois.
Mrs. Carper is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Robert, her son Charles W. Carper and her parents.
A military graveside honors service to celebrate her life will be held on July 10, 2023 at 10:00 A.M in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville.
