Funeral services for Phoebe Maxine Edwards, 77, of Leesville, LA will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crystal Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco, with Rev. John Kautz and Elder J.R. Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Leesville, LA. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home and on Thursday, March 4th from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Phoebe, the daughter of Elias and Ruby Herring Haymon, was born on November 17, 1932 in Vernon Parish, LA. She passed away on March 1, 2010 at her residence in Leesville. She was a member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards was a caregiver. She also served as a Commissioner for Elections in Vernon Parish. She loved to cook & was great at it; she loved her church, grandkids and great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Edwards, daughters, Darla Dixon & Debra Ann Robertson and sister, Rometta Ann Haymon.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy Graham (husband, Sonny) of Leesville, LA, brothers, JR Haymon (wife, Estelle) of Merryville, LA & Osville R. Haymon (wife, Dorothy) of Leesville, LA, sister, Floy Gorham of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, Jackie Gross (husband, George) & Shane Miller and great grandchildren, Loryn Gross and Alana Gross.
