Pete Godwin's Obituary
Funeral services for Pete Godwin, 57, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2014, at East Leesville Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Jeff Smart and Rev. Mark Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 25th from 5 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., in the funeral home.
Pete, was born November 9, 1956, in Leesville, LA .He passed away Thursday, January 23rd, in Lake Charles
Pete was a Chief Mechanic for Transocean for over twenty years.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Elizabeth Dowden; great grandmothers, Alice Bell Dowden and Cliffie Laurent; great grandfathers, Harry C. Laurent and Grover Dowden; cousin, Cecil Salter and two great uncles: Bub Laurent and Harry Laurent of Merryville.
He is survived his sons, Derrick Wayne & Betsy Godwin, Sr., and Kyle Lyn Myers both of Leesville; parents, D. Patrick & Connie Altenburger of Leesville; brothers, Mike Godwin of Leesville, Patrick Altenburger of Leesville, Clint Godwin of McKenzie, AL, T.W. Neikirk of Leesville and Tommy Larson of Leesville; sisters, Diana & John Bergman of Leesville, Angela Godwin of Anacoco and Dennise & Rick Bigham of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Carri Godwin, Derrick Godwin, Jr., David Godwin and Berkley Godwin and nieces & nephews, Sarah Matthieu, Christy Nolf, Cody Jett, Jason White, Kevin Godwin, Kaleb Godwin, Alicia Ferrell, Candice Godwin, Ryan Bigham, Michael Bigham, Catherine Bigham, Tara Bigham, Josh Altenburger, Ethan Altenburger, Kenzie Altenburger, Cameron Diamond, Chris Bergman and Amber Bergman and a host of grand nieces & nephews and lots of friends.
