Paul Jackson Savell's Obituary
Funeral services for Paul Jackson Savell, 84, of Evans will be held Monday, April 2, 2018, at 11 am at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Beckom Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Paul was born on May 8, 1933, in Hornbeck, Louisiana, and passed away on March 29, 2018 in Leesville, Louisiana, at the age of 84.
Paul joined the army at the age of 15 to serve his country in the Korean Conflict. His tour there included the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge and other engagements. Paul also did two tours of duty in Vietnam, and his full military career spanned 21 years. After retiring from the Army, Paul joined the City Police Force in Leesville, Louisiana and had a host of experiences during his career to share with anyone who would listen. His good humor and friendly personality made him a delight to all who knew him well.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, his mother, Mae as well as his first wife, Evelyn, a number of siblings and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Von Fee Savell of Evans, LA., children; Larry (Alecia) Savell of San Antonio, TX., Randy (Lauren) Savell of Killeen, TX., Connie (Kirk) Midkiff of Evans, LA., Carma (Kenneth) Pennington of Burr Ferry, LA., Greg (Cindy) Fee of DeRidder, LA., Brad (Jessicia) Fee of DeRidder, LA., brother; Tim (Becky) Savell of Lone Oak, TX., sisters; Mary Penrod of Greenville, TX., Rose Markem of Vivian , LA., 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
