Patricia Mae Hataway's Obituary
Patricia Mae Hataway was born in Eldorado, AR, September 15, 1941. She grew up in East Texas and lived on Lake Cherokee where she met and married her husband of 43 years, William Edward Hataway, deceased.
While living on the Lake, Pat loved to drive a boat. She spent many wonderful summer days pulling her friends and relatives on water skis all over the Lake. However, if it was dark or cold outside, she could be found dancing at a party or playing cards. If no one else was around, she loved to watch the scariest horror and science fiction movies she could find. She also loved animals, especially cats. Her favorite color was blue, but when it came to her hair and her fingernails, Pat chose the wildest, craziest and kinkiest patterns and colors.
If you asked her what gift she wanted for Christmas or any other occasion, her answer was always the same… a Lottery Ticket. She lived for the next Lotto and MegaMillion drawings. Her favorite destination was a casino with plenty of slot machines. She departed to the Hereafter with a dark brown ultra-short bob and waxed eyebrows, wearing her favorite blue dress, and holding a scratch-off lottery ticket between her ultra-hot pink lacquered nails.
Pat and Bill moved to Carthage, TX, in 1988 where she lived until the last two years of her life. As her health failed, she moved to Leesville, LA, to live with her nephew Todd Tarjick and his amazing family - wife Melanie and their son Tucker. Together, they lovingly nurtured and nursed Pat in their home until her passed away from kidney failure and stroke on May 13, 2015. Carthage is also where Pat accepted the Lord at Faith Assembly Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Edward Hataway, born in Carthage, TX, her mother Eloise Record, born in Camden, AR, her step-father Raymond Record born in Paducah, KY, her sister Priscilla Dean Record, born in Lake Charles, LA,` and her father Earnest Oscar Pierce, born in Whitewright, TX.

Houghton of Sandwich, MA, her nephew Christopher Bryan Nelms, and his wife Paula, grand-nieces Grace and Noel of Rockwall, TX, and step-grand- nephew Dylan Birdsong of Richardson, TX.
