Patricia S. Chism's Obituary
Patricia S. Chism, 64, passed away on March 6, 2026, in DeRidder, Louisiana. She was born on May 1, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Patricia was a hardworking and honest woman who dedicated much of her life to caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in the time she spent with those she loved. As a homemaker, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of good cooking. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and sharing meals with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Keith A. Chism of DeRidder, Louisiana; her son, Robert C. Hitner and wife Alejandra of Reno, Nevada; and her daughters, Amanda L. Treadway and husband Jeff Treadway of Merryville, Louisiana, Brittany Chambers of Ragley, Louisiana, Rebbecca Hitner of Yakima, Washington, and Katherine Harbson of Yakima, Washington.
She is also survived by her brothers, Chuck Simmons and wife Linda Simmons of Port Charlotte, Florida, and David Simmons and wife Linda Simmons of Rosepine, Louisiana; and her sister, Dot Harmon of DeRidder, Louisiana.
Patricia leaves behind a cherished legacy in her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her love, kindness, and presence in their lives.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
