Pansy Virginia Calcote's Obituary
Pansy Virginia Calcote, 81, entered peacefully into rest on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Pansy was born to Manning Coleman and Carrie Bell (Turner) Coleman on November 13, 1939, in Call, Texas.
Visitation will begin Thursday, December 17, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1300 Hwy 26, DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 2020, Visitation will start at 10:00 AM and Service will begin at 11:00 AM, at Friendship Baptist Church, with Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Pansy loved decorating for the holidays and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of others.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Horace “Red” Calcote, Sr.; children Virginia Lambert of Rosepine, LA, Diania Berry and husband Jessie of Rosepine, LA, Horace “Buster” Calcote, Jr. and wife Donette of DeRidder, LA, Bradley Calcote and wife Tracie of Rosepine, LA, Misty Calcote of Rosepine, LA; brothers Johnny Coleman of DeRidder, LA, Roy Gene Coleman and wife Susan of Lawrence, KS; sisters Betty Everett of DeRidder, LA, Charlene Loftin and husband William of Knights Community, LA, Janice Mohr and husband Greg of Laton, CA; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Preceded in death by her parents, Manning Coleman, Carrie Bell Coleman and brother Manning Coleman, Jr.
Those honored to serve, as pallbearers are Tyler Bailey, Ryan Calcote, Brady Calcote, Logan Calcote, Eric Jones, Garrett Deason, Nathan Tackett, and Daniel Stephens.
Those honored to serve, as honorary pallbearer is Paul Burge.
