Funeral services for Otis James "OJ" O'Banion, 79, of DeRidder will be at approximately 10 A.M., Friday, March 26, 2010, at Sunrise Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow in Almadane Cemetery near Evans, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mr. O'Banion passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 in Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Friday, March 26, 2010, in the church.
Mr. O'Banion was born in Evans, LA, and lived most of his life in DeRidder. He was a retired mechanic having worked for Blackmon Trucking and Ricky Day Trucking. He worked in the stumping industry as a young man.
He is survived by two sons, Paul O'Banion of Ft. Worth, TX, and Jerry O'Banion of San Diego, CA; step-son, Tommy Rigmaiden of Grand Prairie, TX; three daughters, Beverly O'Banion of Arlington, TX, Alisha Bolden of Arlington, TX, and Audrina Crosley; three step-daughters, Kathy Taylor of DeRidder, LA, Brenda Olivius of DeRidder, and Marie Veasy of Arlington, TX; one brother, James Henry O'Banion of Tyler, TX; three sisters, Jean Johnson, Annie Rosendoll and Olivia Hickman, all of DeRidder; and seven grandchildren.
