Graveside services for Ophia Mae Moore., 98, of McKinney, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the Leesville Cemetery of Leesville.
Ophia Mae Westbrook Moore, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was born on September 11, 1923 in Florien, LA to Mary Effie Self and Joseph Westbrook. Ophia who known to her friends and relatives as Mickey.
She grew up in Hornbeck, LA and worked briefly at the Pentagon during WWII. Ophia married Richard Lee Moore in June of 1947 and was a resident of Lake Charles, LA for 59 years. They had one son, Dale. She managed a jewelry store in Lake Charles for a number of years and was a devoted wife and mother.
Ophia is pre-deceased by her mother and father; three brothers, Hoyt, Howard and Thomas Westbrook and two sisters, Lovie Fowler and Faye Behan; a grandson, Dr. Eric Moore; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Moore; and her beloved husband Richard.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Colley of Cullman, AL; her son Dale Moore of Plano. TX; a granddaughter, Lindsay Minier and her husband Paul of Fulshear TX; and two great granddaughters, Kayman and Berlin Minier, and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
