Funeral services for Opal Harper Weldon of Sugartown, LA will be held at 3PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Sugartown United Pentecostal Church in Sugartown, LA, with Rev. A.A.Haymon, Rev. Steve Haymon and Rev. Randy Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Sugartown Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and from 10:00AM until time of the service, Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Sugartown United Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Weldon passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 in Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder, LA.
Mrs. Weldon was born in Russville, LA but lived most of her life in Sugartown. She was a homemaker and member of Sugartown United Pentecostal Church in Sugartown where she was a vocalist and taught Sunday School for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Lloyd Weldon and wife Lana of Grant, LA, Louis Weldon and wife Linda of Lake Charles, LA, and Hubert Weldon of Sugartown, LA; four daughters, Violet Andrews and husband Keith of Sugartown, Mildred Fontenot and husband Mano of Kinder, LA, Dorothy Sanchez of Houston, TX, and Wilma Lacy and husband Milford of Westlake, LA; one brother, Robert Harper of Pitkin, LA; two sisters, Honerlee Smith of Orange, LA, and Wilma Sue Goetzman of Scott, LA; 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 21 great, great grandchildren.
