Ondie Odis "Buddy" Burge's Obituary
Funeral services for Ondie Odis “Buddy” Burge, 70, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 4 P.M., Friday, June 25, 2010, in Christway Church in DeRidder with Rev. Kennis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Havens Cemetery in Singer, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M., Thursday, June 24, 2010, and from 10 A.M. until time of the service, Friday, June 25, 2010, all in Christway Church. Mr. Burge passed away in an automobile accident while traveling through Alabama.
Mr. Burge is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Burge; sons, Greg Burge, and Alan Burge and wife Kim, all of DeRidder; daughters, Donna Smithkors of DeRidder, and Linda Bracken and husband Norman, of Burkeville, TX; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brother, Gary Burge and wife Barbara of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Opal Cooley and husband LaRue, and Mary Rose Mitchell and husband Johnny, all of Singer, LA; and mother-in-law, Verena Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA. Pallbearers for the service will be Greg Burge, Artie Smithkors, Scott Bracken, Cory McKay, Taylor Burge, Zach Burge and Sam Burge. Honorary pallbearer will be A. J. Smithkors.
