Funeral services with military honors for Omer Lee Manning, Jr., 72, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 10 A M, Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Danny Wilson and Rev. Alan Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from 6 PM until 9 P M and 9 A M until time of the service, Wednesday, November 2, 2016, all at the church.
Omer Lee was born July 25, 1944, to Omer Lee and Hazel Willis Manning, Sr. in DeRidder, LA. He passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, in his residence in DeRidder, LA. He lived most of his life in DeRidder, LA. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed photography. He was a retired project manager with Civil Service at Ft. Polk, LA and also served as a part-time sheriff’s deputy for the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Department and was a security guard. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam war.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Muller Manning of DeRidder; three daughters, Becky Collins (Tony of Lake Charles, LA, Angela Manning and Heather Manning, both of DeRidder; one brother, Keith Manning (Bonnie) of Alexandria, LA; one sister, Carol Hauser of Longville, LA; five grandchildren, Daelun Lopez, Mason Lopez, Tait Collins, Mika Collins, and Tyler Collins and three great grandchildren.
