Funeral services for O.D. Baker, Jr., 61, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Mason officiating. Burial will be held Sunday, February 16th at Cainridge #1 Church Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel.
O. D. the son of O.D. Baker, Sr., and Lucille Chatman Baker was born September 23, 1952, in Lake Providence, LA. He passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, in Leesville.
O.D. Baker was a man of all men. He loved being outdoors withered it be hunting or fishing. Either one sounded good to him. Catching up with him was sometimes next to impossible unless he wanted you to find him. Everyone he came in contact with he could make smile at some point. He had a good heart and great advice; talking with him made you wiser in so many ways. He will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by her parents, O.D. and Lucille Baker; nephew Darren “Tiny” Spencer; uncle, Clarence McVan and grandparents, Hardy and Viola Nicoles.
He is leaves behind a son, Cornelius Wingate; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, five brothers, James Baker (Betty) of Leesville, LA, Jesse Baker (Daisy) of Leesville, Clifton Chapmon (Betty) of Pioneer, LA, Eddie Baker of Leesville, LA and Ricky Baker of Leesville, LA and sister, Barbara Baker of South Carolina. Not to forget a great deal of nieces and nephews and a host relatives and friends.
