Nuel Eugene Corley's Obituary
Funeral service for Nuel Eugene Corley, 73, of Anacoco will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in the Crystal Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco, with Rev. Rodney Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, and from 3:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday in the church.
Nuel was born on January 16, 1949 in Leesville, Louisiana to his parents, Herman Brooklyn and Faye LaVelle Martin Corley. He passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Rapides Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Nuel was a resident of Vernon Parish and graduated from Anacoco High School. He served in the United States Army and after being discharged he assisted his Dad in the Timber Business. Later, he was employed with the Vernon Parish Police Jury. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and became a Forman; retiring after many years of service.
Nuel loved to watch things grow and vegetables in his garden flourished for many seasons. He also enjoyed the sport of hunting. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting with his Mother.
Nuel was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and LaVelle Corley; Son: Gregory Corley; Brother: Truman Corley; Sisters: Dottie Corley Toney and Monica Corley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his Grandchildren: Brooke (Tyler) Rivers of Anacoco, LA;
Greg Corley also of Anacoco and Step Granddaughter Victoria Brittian (Rick Ronayne) of Leesville, LA; Great Granddaughter: Emalyn Rivers of Anacoco; Brothers: Sherman (Sue) Corley of DeRidder, LA and Cecil (Alita) Corley of Anacoco; Daughter-in-law: Darla Corley of Anacoco; Sister-in- Law: Ann Corley, Brother-in-law: Jim Toney, Numerous nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.
