Nola Faye Bass' Obituary
Funeral services for Nola Faye Bass, 97, of Pitkin, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 14, 2023, in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens with Bro. Chad Estes, Bro. Arlen Smith and Bro. Anthony Eaves officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Nola was born on January 5, 1926, in Cravens, LA to her parents, George H. and Ima Davis Bass. She passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, in DeRidder, LA.
Nola loved her church and church family. She loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Bass never met a stranger and she loved everyone. She loved to shop and was an impeccable looking lady.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ima Bass; husband, Leonard “Lynn” Bass; sister, Bonnie Haymon; son-in-law, Charles Blencke; grandson, Christopher Blencke.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jack Bass & wife Brenda of Pitkin; daughter, Diana Blencke of DeRidder; sister, Ima Rae Maricle of Pitkin; grandchildren, Alicia Blencke & Nancy, Charles Blencke Jr. & Courtney, Samantha Kelty & Robert, Dr. Luke Bass & Lindsay, Haley Ellison & Jeff; great-grandchildren, Gunther Blencke, Ava Blencke, Faye Blencke, Atis Kelty, Aoife Kelty, Colby Bass, Jaida Bass, Caroline Ellison, and Colette Ellison.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles Blencke Jr., Gunther Blencke, Dr. Luke Bass, Wyatt Maricle, Blake Maricle, & Mike Maricle. Serving as honorary pallbearers are George Reese, Larry Reese, Steve Bass, Ed Corley, & Jeff Ellison.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westwood Manor Nursing Home & Brighton Bridge Hospice for their exceptional care and attention they gave to our mother.
