Neulan Dae Midkiff's Obituary
Our beloved husband, daddy, granddaddy and brother, Neulan Dae Midkiff, peacefully entered into his eternal home on Sunday morning, April 23, 2023. He was 81 years old. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Neulan and Missy Midkiff of Leesville Louisiana, and brother Shermon Midkiff. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Mae; children, Kara Rosen (Steve), David Midkiff (Nicole), Kami Weinstein (Joshua), Dena and Cody Denny; his precious grandkids Kate Graham (Christian), Anna, Stephen, Nicol, Nathan, and Maria Rosen; Ethan, Nash, Niam and Luke Midkiff; Olive and Aston Weinstein; and Haisley Denny; great grandchild Elsie Graham; younger brothers, Craig and Jerry Midkiff (Darlene) and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as “Daddy, Cowboy, Bo, Dae, and of course, sweety”.
Neulan Dae ran his race in this world and had only one prize he desired to gain and that was to love well like Jesus; to live his life for Him and Him alone. He had a mountain of faith that he held firm to until his last breath, surrounded by his faithful family. Anyone who ever met him would leave knowing that he loved his Lord with all his heart. He always had a testimony or two to tell whomever would listen about this great love. He was a master storyteller and always had a song in his heart waiting to be sung even at the most random times. He loved fishing, hunting in the great outdoors (especially in Colorado) and he travelled this beautiful world, but his heart was always partial to the land of Israel where he visited numerous times and even lived for a time.
In his younger years in Lake Charles, LA, Neulan was a star athlete breaking high school track records and was a skilled pitcher and batter. He was a master barber and singer in the Evans 5 quartet following his youth, but this all took a backseat when he felt a strong calling into the ministry as a preacher where he pastored and founded churches in Texas and Minnesota. Though retired from the ministry, this calling never left him as he always desired to share of God’s great love and power to all- even until the end amidst his great physical suffering.
Family was everything to Neulan and he always lived for the visits from his children and grandchildren especially and was even blessed at the end to live near most of them in Colorado; patiently fishing with them, watching their numerous sporting events, or just telling infamous stories from his youth shared with his brothers. He was a generous man and was always willing to help those in need. Neulan was truly a man of great love and adored by many; he will be deeply missed.
Neulan Dae will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in his family hometown of Leesville, Louisiana, Sunday, April 30.
