Nettie "Jean" Taylor's Obituary
Funeral services for Nettie Jean Addison Taylor, 87, will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 1 pm at Beech Grove Congregational Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Nettie the daughter of Olin and Lois Addison was born on July 10, 1929 in Beaumont, Texas. She passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Nettie, was raised in Anacoco Louisiana, attended Anacoco School. Mrs. Nettie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anacoco, Louisiana. In 1947 she married her loving husband Douglas Lee Taylor Sr. She called Lake Charles home where she, her husband and children lived for 40+ years before moving back to Anacoco after her husband’s retirement in 1980. She was a loving and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.
Nettie Jean was Flamboyant with a marvelous creative and artistically talented eye for fashion and decorating. Loved bird watching, especially from her breakfast window where they came to feed and sing in the morning light. She was a marvelous cook and baker who opened her heart to friends and family in celebration of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Lee Taylor Sr.; son, Robin Gregory Taylor; parents, Olen Sr. and Lois Addison; 4 brothers, Olen Addison Jr., Malcolm Addison, Edward Donald Addison and Jimmy Dale Addison.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Lee Taylor Jr, Florien Louisiana; one sister, Wanda Addison Franklin of Texas; five Grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
