Nena Faye Carver's Obituary
Funeral services for Nena Faye Carver, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 16, 2020 in the Burr Ferry United Pentecostal Church with Revs. Roger Herrington and Eddie Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in the Burr Ferry Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the church.
Mrs. Carver was born on August 31, 1933 in Vernon Parish and passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 in DeRidder.
She loved quilting, sewing, canning, and gardening. She was devoted to her church and loved spending time reading her bible and cooking dinners for church. She worked for many years selling Avon, Harold’s One Stop, Phoenix Drugstore, Morgan Lindsey, and Nichols in Leesville. When she was younger she loved to squirrel hunt. No one was ever a stranger in her home and they never went away hungry.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert Henry Haymon and Bessie Caril Nash Haymon; Her Husband: Walter Austin Carver; Brothers: Lenzie Haymon and Leonard Haymon; Daughter in law: Pamela Ann Carver.
Mrs. Carver is survived by: Her Daughter: Elaine McClain (Bobby) of Anacoco, LA; Her Sons: William Carver (Sandy) of DeRidder, and Allen Carver (Dianne) of Burr Ferry; Grandchildren: Scott Carver (Paige), Caren McClain, Amanda Lambright (Jeremy), Holly McClain, Jennifer Hahn (Mike), Wayne Richmond (Tina), Missy Davis, Kari Proksch (Bryan), Adam McCarty (Amire), Katie Weinnig (Andy); 21 great grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to all the staff and employees of Westwood Manor Nursing Home for the care and kindness that they showed our mother.
