Nancy Beulah Ferguson's Obituary
Nancy Beulah Ferguson, 75, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her home in DeRidder, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones. Nancy was born to Barney and Daisy Stracener on December 30, 1946 in the Lone Star Community; she was number 11 of twelve children.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM, at Lone Star Baptist Church, 781 Lone Star Church Road, Pitkin, LA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, visitation will start at 10:00 AM and service will begin at 12:00 Noon, at the church with Rev. John Elliott, Pastor of Lone Star Baptist Church and Rev. Jason Hoychick, Pastor of Westview Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cole Cemetery in Sugartown, Louisiana.
Nancy wore many hats over the years; some of them were as a teachers assistant, cafeteria manager, Safeway associate, and housekeeper. Her biggest passion was being a quilter; she would have loved to make everyone a quilt. Nancy made everyone feel loved and important.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Pam Phillips and husband Allen of DeRidder, LA; son Lynn Ferguson, Jr. and wife Liz of Port Barre, LA; brother Gerald Stracener of Pitkin, LA; sister Florence Haselden; grandchild Amanda and husband Jason Powell, their children Sarah, Leah, Nathan and Caleb; grandchild Ashley and husband Harold Copeland; grandchild Brittany and husband David Moore, their child Zoei; grandchild Clayton and wife Chelsea Ferguson and their child River; grandchild Justin and wife Janna Burgess and their children Noah, Isabella, and A. J.
Preceded in death by her husband Harvey L. Ferguson, Sr.; parents Barney and Daisy Stracener; brothers George Stracener, Lincolon Stracener, Ray Stracener, Edward Stracener, Nick Stracener; sisters Mertie Tilton, Zadie Lavonia Stracener, Daisy Louisa Stracener, Christine Prather; great grandchildren Colten Wellman, Harold Copeland III, and Olivia Moore.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Lynn Ferguson, Richard Prather, Perry Able, Billy Dickson, Bryan Stracener, and Mark Childers.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearer are Marvin Stracener, Gerald Stracener, and Webster Boggs.
