Myrtle Henley McGeHee's Obituary
Funeral services for Myrtle Henley McGehee, 92, of Basile, Louisiana, formerly of DeRidder, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Rod Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the chapel.
Mrs. McGehee, the daughter of James and Margaret Henley, was born September 9, 1917, in Clinton, Arkansas. She passed away Friday, August 27, 2010.
Mrs. McGehee and her husband, Emory, moved to Louisiana where they raised their family. After retiring in the DeRidder area, she spent her time raising cattle and produce. She enjoyed quilting and canning vegetables. In her later years she moved to Basile to care for her husband. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Basile.
Mrs. McGehee is survived by her son, James C. McGehee of Eunice, LA , a daughter, Jacquiline Broussard of Abbeville, LA, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
