Graveside services for Mr. Murphy A. Manning, 92, of Hornbeck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck with Bro. Douglas Downs and Bro. Michael Lightsey officiating. Mr. Manning passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his home in Hornbeck surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 16, 1928 in Strong Arkansas. He was retired as a truck driver for civil service at Fort Polk. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church for over 40 years. He loved to hunt and fish and to feed the birds and squirrels in his yard. He was always there to help anyone when they needed him. He is preceded in death by his parents: William A. & Vader Bardin Manning; two brothers: Willie Manning and Earl Manning; one grandson: Chad Prewitt. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 72 years: Lorene Manning of Hornbeck; three daughters: Diana Prewitt and husband Ben of Hornbeck, Vicki Martin and husband Ronnie of Hornbeck, and Connie Deavers of Hornbeck; one sister: Lila Manning of Haile, LA; six grandchildren: Duane Hester, Scotty Martin, Toddy & Julie Martin, Ron & Brandy Martin, Karen & Donald Nauck, Willis Prewitt; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
