Millie Murlene Massey was born on July 24, 1938 in Leesville, Louisiana. She passed away on July 7, 2026 in Leesville. Louisiana surrounded by loved ones.
Murlene loved and enjoyed family, traveling, fishing, painting, country music especially the fiddle, whistled while she cooked, loved coffee time with loved ones, and caring for her pets.
Preceded in death by parents, Jesse James and Rosa Lee Rice Cryer; brother, Norman, Authur, Oscar; sisters, Lois Midkiff, Myrtle Shelton, Doris Smart, Joyce and Jewel; husbands; James Hampton, Dalton Holt, James Barbee and Bobby Massey; son, John Thomas Hampton; two grandchildren, Alisha and Randy Hampton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Marjorie Dailey (Ronald) Leesville, LA and Hank Hampton, Casper, WY. siblings; Pauline Keohokapu, Ruth Luebbers (Don), James Cryer, Jerry Cryer (Linda) and Ocie Mahoney; grandchildren; , Shannon Parker (Shane) and Natalie Ashworth (Joe); Greats, Kelsey Parker, Christopher Clark, Payton Talbert (Brennan), Shealyn Clark, Logan Ashworth, Leah Parker, Lauren Ashworth, Lee Ann Ashworth, Tyler, Kayla, Jennifer and Christian Hampton; great greats’ Brooklyn and Brettlyn Bennett, Landree Clark, Jamie Harvey, and LoraLynn Talbert.
Special thanks to Allegiance Team of nurses, aids, social worker, doctor, Shealyn, nurse Shelly and CNA Angelle; also to Companion Care, sitter, Tiffany, neighbors Alisha and Cynthia. The devotion and care were so special and our gratitude to all that cared for her and made a bond in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, LA with Rev. Shane Freeman officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Cryer Cemetery in Leesville.
