Micheal Dewayne Cooley's Obituary
Funeral services for Micheal D. Cooley, 58, of Pitkin, LA, will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 2 P.M., in Arkadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Maxwell, Rev. Ron Butler and Rev. Rod Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Black Jack Cemetery in Black Jack Community, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitations will be from 3 P.M. until 10 P.M., Tuesday, July 13, 2010, and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, all in Arkadelphia Baptist Church. Mr. Cooley passed away Monday morning, July 12, 2010, in his residence.
A lifelong resident of the Black Jack Community, he was a 1969 graduate of Fairview High School. He was the owner/operator of Cooley Trucking for twenty-seven years. He was a member and deacon at Arkadelphia Baptist
Church and a member of the Oakdale, LA, chapter of Gideons International. Micheal was an avid Colorado deer hunter.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kathleen Calhoun Cooley of Pitkin, LA; two sons, William Jeffrey Cooley and Michael Trey Cooley, both of Pitkin; daughter, Jamey Cooley Chandler of Sugartown, LA; brother, Burl Andy Cooley of Alexandria, LA; sister, Peggy Nolen Hudson of Pitkin; mother, Betty R. Cooley of Pitkin; two grandchildren, Lakyn Cooley and Bryn Chandler and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur J. and Betty Jo Loftin Cooley, and brother, Clyde P. Cooley.
