Michael Kent Rider's Obituary
Michael Kent Rider, 51, entered into rest on Friday, August 14, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. Mike was born on October 29, 1968 in Eunice, Louisiana to James Bobby and Mary Earline Tweedel Rider.
Visitation will begin Monday, August 17, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Sam Burchard, pastor of Dry Creek Bible Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA with Masonic Burial Service. Services under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Mike loved to play with his grandbabies. He loved hunting and fishing, especially on Toledo Bend Lake. He worked at Boise and Citgo for 15 years as a machinist. He was a member of Dry Creek Bible Church and was a member of the Sam Todd Masonic Lodge No.182, Free & Accepted Masons where he was serving as Senior Steward. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Helen Rider of Dry Creek, LA; children, Shawn Rider and wife Shelbie of Dry Creek, LA, Dustin Rider and wife Ashlyn of Dry Creek, LA and Alexis Sonnier of Dry Creek, LA; his mother, Mary Earline Rider of Dry Creek, LA; brothers, Jimmy Rider and wife Kim of North Carolina, Steven Rider and wife Tori of Dry Creek, LA and Shannon Rider of Dry Creek, LA; grandchildren, Rex Rider, Carson Rider and Colton Rider; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, James Rider.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Brett Bushnell, Greg Bailey, Bubba Honea, Shannon Rider, Steve Rider and Jimmy Rider. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dane Baker.
