Michael Hamilton's Obituary
Michael “Mike” David Hamilton was born to Charles and Beatrice Hamilton on June 5, 1960 in Fort Sill, OK. Although born in Oklahoma, Mike was a lifelong resident of DeRidder where he passed on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the age of 64.
Mike spent the majority of his career in the onshore oil and gas industry, specializing in seismography. His career allowed him to travel throughout the United States and Canada, many times with the love of his life, the late Karen Henson.
Mike had numerous life long friends acquired both through work and his childhood. Two special friends the family would like to acknowledge and express sincere gratitude and appreciation toward are John Odette and Mike Warren. Mike was blessed to be able to spend precious time with them at the end of his beautiful life.
Mike was a devout family man. He is survived by his children, Sean Hamilton and wife Lindsey, and Mandy George and husband Aric. He adored his grandchildren, Brenna George, Tyler George, Nathan Hamilton, and Rex Hamilton. Mikes beloved siblings include Donnie Hamilton and wife Diane, Dee Dee Willis, Jim Hamilton and wife Lupie, and Craig Hamilton. Mike had a host of nieces and nephews. The family’s shared memories and unwavering support will forever honor Mike’s spirit and deep bonds of family he cherished,
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beatrice Hamilton; brothers, Charlie and Thomas Hamilton, brother-in-law, Gary Willis; and soul-mate, Karen Henson.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to St. Joseph’s Hospice and to all family and friends, especially Darlene Hargrave.

Visitation will begin Saturday Sept 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service which begins at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Labby Memorial with Pastor Tony Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in Deridder, LA. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Serving as pallbearers are Aric George, Mike Warren, John Odette, Jimmy Walker, Edmund Purvis, and Mike Robinson.
The family request that all those that will be in attendance to please wear purple or LSU clothing.
