Melvina Brown's Obituary
Funeral services for Melvina Brown, 85, of Pickering, Louisiana will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Cooper Baptist Church in Pickering with Rev. Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 16th from 4 pm - 9 pm, and on Saturday, August 17th, from 2 pm until service time in the church.
Melvina, the daughter of Henry Newton and Ella Grimes Williams, was born August 15, 1928, in Slagle, LA. She passed away, Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at her residence in Pickering.
Maw Maw Brown was a homemaker and she loved to quilt and cook for her family and friends. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years Joe Brown; her son Ricky Wayne Brown and she was the last of fourteen brothers and sisters.
Melvina is survived by her son, Larry Joe and wife Lana Brown of Pickering; daughter, Terri Brown of Houston, TX, daughter-in-law, Debbie Brown Johnston of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Scottie, Cody, Michael, Ricky, Heather, Larry Lynn, Laci Joe and Holly; nine great grandchildren, Laurashae, Ricky, Abigail, Jadyn, Kolin, Shy Lynn, Linkon, Gracyn and Tripp.
The Brown family wants to extend a special Thank You to Lana Brown, Laci Brown and Bonnie Hardin.
