Melissa Ann Susie Jeane's Obituary
Funeral services for Melissa Ann “Susie” Jeane, 69, of Evans, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Labby Memorial Chapel, with Bro. William (B.J.) Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Burr Ferry Community Cemetery Burr Ferry, LA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 23, from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. in Labby Memorial Chapel.
Melissa Ann “Susie” Jeane was born November 17, 1954, in Leesville, Louisiana, to John Dewey Jeane Sr. and Willie Faye “Jane” Jones Jeane.
Melissa especially enjoyed drinking coffee, counting her dollar bills, and visiting with neighbors.
Melissa was always ready to enjoy a good meal, hold a baby, or be taken on a road trip in her very own car. Melissa filled her days with watching the cows, listening to classic country music, and keeping a close eye on the family garden.
With childlike wonder, Melissa always looked forward to any occasion where opening presents would take place and never left town without indulging in a McDonald’s cheeseburger or some Popeye’s fried chicken.
Melissa had a pure heart but without fail would let you know exactly how she felt about things, to include you. Her smiles and laughter brought much joy to her family and friends.
Melissa is survived by Two Sisters, Robbie Gail Jordan & Roger of Evans, Alfa Jean Chaney & Jimmy of the Knight Community; Two Brothers, John Dewey “J.D.” Jeane Jr. of Leesville, James Edgar “Bit” Jeane & Brenda of Leesville, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful ladies who provided extended care to Melissa over the past few years.
