Jean was born June 30, 1939 in Mora, LA to Ed and Reancy Bolton and went to be with her Lord on June 5, 2021 in Kisatchie, La.
She married Robert Dean Ray on February 7, 1957 then graduated Kisatchie High School a few months later. She had many jobs over her lifetime but being a homemaker was what she loved most. Jean had many loves. She loved God and was a long time member of Kisatchie Baptist Church. She also loved being in her yard whether it was mowing, weeding, or nurturing her plants. Jean loved cooking. Eating at her table was a joy that you could never get enough of…especially her biscuits. Of all her loves, her family was her greatest. She was happiest when her house was full of grandkids, and they knew beyond a shadow of a doubt how much she loved them.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Misty Suzanne Ray; her sisters, Helen Dean, Thelma Afeman, Nera White, Bessie Bolton, Essie Mitchum, and Myrtie Sharp; and her parents.
Jean is survived by the love of her life of 64 years, Robert Dean Ray; her daughter, Cyndi Oliver and husband Steve; her grandchildren, Josh Oliver, and wife Jennifer, Chance Oliver and wife Lexi, Cassidy Lopez and husband Derek, Halie Oliver, and Katie Oliver; her great-grandchildren, Connor Reese Oliver and Everly Rose Lopez; her brother, Ed Bolton and wife Linda; her sisters, Faye Cranford, Tena Kern and husband Charlie, and Sue Vercher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
