Mearl “Pete” Phillips, 63, passed from this life on January 19, 2019 in his home, surround by his loving family in DeRidder, LA. Pete, the son of Allison and Carline Phillips was born on July 19, 1955, in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from 5 PM until 8:00 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 11:00 AM, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. with Minister Alan Farquhar and Minister Jim Cheever officiating. Interment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Pete enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music. He was a jack of all trades, liked working on cars. Liked to visit with people and never met a stranger.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jacqueline Phillips of DeRidder, LA.; children, Andrea and husband Vincent Whittington of DeRidder, LA, Nicholas and wife, Sarah Phillips of Pine Prairie, LA, Shyanne Bailey of DeRidder; brothers Allen Dewayne and wife Anna Phillips of Moss Bluff, LA, John Daniel and wife Roberta Phillips of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Clora Phillips of DeRidder, LA, Merline and husband Edward Simmons of DeRidder, LA; four grandchildren, Lucas Whittington, Abygayle Whittington, Wyatt Phillips and Audrey Phillips.
Preceded in death by his parents, Allison and Carline Phillips.
